Background on Beth Ahm

Congregation Beth Ahm is a Conservative synagogue led by Rabbi Alan Lefkowitz. Created by 16 families in 1951, it was initially was known as The Jewish Community of Greater Windsor.  In September 1960, we opened our doors in a newly built synagogue on 362 Palisado Avenue in Windsor.  Our members live throughout Greater Hartford and include interfaith families.

Here are some programs and services we are proud to offer:

Congregation Shabbat Dinners at the Synagogue - Delicious Kosher dinner, conversations with friends, and special programs create a warm family-like atmosphere.

Religious School - Our synagogue is committed to excellence in education.  We seek, study and implement innovative and creative methods of teaching at all levels.  Our classes are small, so we can provide individualized instruction, when necessary.  Classes meet Sundays 9:30am -11:30am, and Wednesdays 4:15pm - 6:15pm.

Bar and Bat Mitzvah - Preparation is part of our Religious School, under the direction of Rabbi Lefkowitz.  Adults also may prepare for a Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony.

Yahrzeit - We keep a record of Yahrzeits to be observed by our members.  They are read at Friday evening and Saturday morning Shabbat services with a Mourner's Kaddish.  Permanent memorial boards are maintained.

Cemetery - The Congregation maintains its own cemetery in Windsor.  Members may purchase plots for themselves and their family at a special member rate.
